Hi there! My name is Crystal Harper and I was diagnosed with a form of blood cancer called Hodgkin Lymphoma in May 2017 when I was 25 years old. I’m happy to say that after undergoing treatment, I am now in remission!
Although I’m a cancer survivor, there’s so much more to me than that title. Don’t get me wrong, I’m so proud of beating cancer and I love spreading awareness of the disease. I talk about cancer so much because I feel it’s important to shed light on things that most people keep private. In doing so, my goal is to help others not feel so alone and to show that what you’re going through is perfectly normal. At the same time, I’m also working hard to find my new normal now that cancer is in my rear view.
I’m here to prove that there is life beyond cancer, and although it took me quite some time to actually come to this conclusion, it’s pretty darn good.
Cancer is and always will be a big part of my life, but it’s just that; a part.
I also think it’s important to remember that we are so much more than cancer. Every single person has so many more layers to them than that title and I wanted to share some of mine with you all:
I’m also a meteorologist,
and lastly, I’m MORE THAN CANCER
